The Maryland Foster Parent represents all
resource families in the state. We have established one centralized
Board of Representatives which includes officers and representative from
each jurisdiction (Maryland counties, and Baltimore City) around the
state. Each jurisdiction representative is appointed by their local
association.
The state MFPA will help each jurisdiction establish their own
association or chapter of MFPA. Each chapter shall be incorporated and
responsible for managing their own funding, accounting procedures,
by-laws and elections. However, those items shall not be in direct
conflict with the by-laws, mission and policies and procedures of the
MFPA. The state MFPA will serve as the parent structure for the chapters
by offering information, training, education and other opportunities.
